Lake District Bootcamp Retreat – June 2018

Back from an amazing 3-day ladies bootcamp retreat in the Lake District, with 12 ladies who all had the perfect boost to their fitness and weight loss whilst having an amazing healthy weekend too

The bootcamp venue was the YHA Ambleside, with a stunning location on the lake Windermere. It’s a great venue with shared or private rooms, great lounge, and a fully self-catering kitchen where the ladies could store and prepare their meals (it was a self-catering bootcamp retreat)

The weekend started at 1pm on the Friday with a welcome talk, goals workshop, fitness tests, and a few sessions of circuits, core and stretch which took place in the local park. Following this we all headed back to the venue to relax, sunbathe, and have a lake swim to cool off – it was so hot it was needed! The bootcamp is based on a number of elements including fitness, healthy eating, learning, but also a great chance to have a break away from everyday life. Its perfect for groups of friends or those coming solo too.

The next day started with a variety of fitness sessions including elements of cardio which included combat, resistance which included Pump, and core which included Pilates ,and this took us up until lunchtime. After everybody had refuelled for the day we head out on our walk up to Loughrigg Fell – an amazing walk with breath-taking view that lasted a few hours and we walked about 9 miles in total. The walk was suitable for everyone and was a perfect afternoon (Who says boot camp just involves being shouted at). Once finished we headed back to the venue for a swim and to get ready for a group evening meal into town, perfect way to end the day. Most of the ladies did about 40k steps today too which was a fantastic achievement – so the few gin and tonics in the evening were certainly earned

Day 3 of bootcamp and everyone is still feeling great. The day starts off with box fit followed by yoga, before we go on another walk, this time to the Stock Ghyll waterfall. Great end to the bootcamp with all the ladies ready to get home and continue their healthy journeys (half of them are coming our Portugal Bootcamp in September so they use these bootcamps as a regular event to keep them on track)

It was a fantastic bootcamp experience for all of the ladies involved and one we wont forget, Well done girls you Smashed It!
