Below is a typical itinerary for our Self-Catering Fitness Holiday in Portugal
DAY 1 – Saturday – arrival day.
You will fly in to Faro airport where your pre-booked taxi will be waiting for you to bring you to our Villa (its just 20 euros return for this service) All the boot campers will be arriving today, and you can get to know everyone before you arrive through our WhatsApp and Facebook groups. If you are travelling solo then do not worry, you won’t feel alone, you may even be in a transfer with somebody if they land at a similar time as you. Once you arrive at the villa you can head to the local supermarket to get your food for the next few days, then just relax around the pool and settle in to the luxury villa before a bbq in the evening.
DAY 2 – Sunday
Today is an early start – 7am – and we start the day off by completing your body measurements (weight, inches and fitness tests (1-mile run/walk followed by 10 timed exercises – don’t worry they are adaptable for everyone) These are done at the end of the week too so we can monitor improvements. Once we finish these it will be time for you to grab some breakfast and fuel up for the morning. We then have a welcome talk, where we will go through everything involved in the week and answer any questions. It’s then straight into a variety of fitness sessions until lunchtime (Its the same structure throughout the week and we have approximately 30 fitness sessions, with elements of cardio, resistance, core and stretch). The afternoon is then yours to relax – chill around the pool, head to the beach, take a walk into town, or just relax with a book or a film. We finish the day with a high intensity session followed by a gentle relaxation/stretch class like yoga or pilates. In the evenings the choice is yours, you can either relax at the villa and make your own healthy meals, or join us at a local restaurant if you don’t wish to cook. (we put on nightly events if you wish to join us)
Day 3 – Monday
Similar to Day 2 except we start the day with a run/walk and there will be a workshop on healthy living after breakfast (we run these daily with different topics every day). We eat at a local restaurant in the evening for those who would like to join us, great way to finish off the day
Day 4 – Tuesday
Morning and evening sessions similar to previous – but in the afternoon our Masseuse comes in and sports massages are offered – just 25 euros per 30 minutes, and it’s a perfect way to relax the tiring muscles. In the evening we have an optional trip to Albufeira Old Town for dinner, where we use a fantastic beachfront restaurant. Some of the ladies stay out and enjoy a few cocktails before heading back to the villa (not too late as hangovers and running don’t mix!)
Day 5 – Wednesday
This morning is beach workout day! We head to a section of the beach approx. 60 minutes’ walk away (Fantastic coastal walk with stunning views of Albufeira) Once there we do a beach interval run/walk, followed by a few fitness sessions including a partner workout, sandbags, and team games – rounders is pretty tough on the beach! We finish approx lunchtime, when most of the ladies head into the Old Town for a spot of lunch and to do a bit of shopping and relax, before coming back for the evening sessions. Tonight is an optional BBQ
Day 6 – Thursday
This is the last full day of fitness so lots of sessions in todays schedule – but it will be worth it tomorrow! The aching will have passed by now and you will be ready to hit the sessions full steam ahead. Our masseuse comes in again this afternoon for anyone who would like extra massages (Sports and relaxation massages are available). Tonight is an optional local restaurant
Day 7 – Friday
It’s the last day! We start the day with your measurements and fitness tests again to see your results and how amazing you did throughout the week. Then after breakfast we offer additional excursions ranging from relaxing boat trips around the Albufeira coastline, to more energetic options such as paddle boarding and surfing. These are optional so if you would like the last day to just relax then that’s no problem! We finish the day with a goodbye workshop and last BBQ. You will have made friends for life, so this night can get a bit emotional!
Day 8 – Saturday – leaving day
Time to leave – your taxis will pick you up and take you direct to Faro airport where you will head home after an amazing week! Checkout is 10am and most people do get the early flights between 7am and 10am. This is not the end of your journey, as we will send you lots of post bootcamp support and check up on you regularly to keep you on track
